Soak all beans except lentils overnight in cold water OR boil beans on stove for 2 minutes, remove from heat, and let stand in hot water for 1 hour.
To make six servings: Put 2C Beans in six cups of water or broth and cook in the Crock-Pot.
Different beans take different amounts of time on high to cook.
Black Beans: 3hrs
Black eyed Peas: 3 1/3 hrs
Chickpeas: 3 1/2- 4 hrs
Great Northern Beans: 2 1/2 hrs
Kidney Beans: 3hrs
Pinto Beans: 3hrs
Soy Beans: 4hrs
Navy Beans: 3hrs
Brown Lentils: 1 1/2 hrs for salads 2hrs for soup
