1 lb dry lentils, rinsed
1 large onion chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 can tomato sauce
2 1/2 C chicken broth
2-3 large carrots peeled and thinly sliced
2-3 ribs celery chopped
1 red bell pepper chopped
2 tsp dried parsley
1 bay leaf
1/8 tsp marjoram
1/8 tsp sage leaves
1/8 tsp dried thyme
salt to taste
shredded cheddar to top
1. Put all ingredients in Crock.
2. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2 1/2-3 hours.
3. Serve with bread or rice. May add 2C of rice at the beginning as well.
