Maple Baked Beans - Crock

2-3 lbs dry white or pinto beans
2-3 large onions chopped
4-6 cloves garlic minced
4 bay leaves
1 C maple syrup
2 tsp dried mustard powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 C tomato paste mixed with 2 1/2 C of water

1. Soak beans overnight in water.

2. Drain and put in Crock. Add next three ingredients and enough water to cover an inch above beans.

3. Cook on high for 8-12 hours.

4. Drain water, remove bay leaves, and put beans back in Crock.

5. Add the remaining ingredients and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
